CRC Celebrates STEM Studies with Students at Long Beach Annual Science and Engineering Fair

More than 1,100 students from Kindergarten through high school recently gathered on a beautiful Saturday morning for the 24th Annual Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) Science and Engineering Fair. Taking place at Cabrillo High School, a diverse group of excited and eager students representing the very best in academic talent displayed their innovative projects at this inspiring district-wide event.

For the third year in a row, CRC was honored to support this STEM-based fair with volunteers from our Early Career Network and Magic Barrel program, lending expertise as project reviewers, as well as presenters. CRC volunteers provided students with constructive feedback while asking specific questions about students’ project development, which proved to be a meaningful part of the event. In addition, CRC’s Magic Barrel program had a significant presence with a large booth showcasing how STEM curriculum translates to today’s energy industry through interactive, hands-on demonstrations and experiments for students and adults alike.

Ryan Kellogg, CRC Long Beach Subsurface Manager said, “I’m really glad CRC is able to sponsor these events. It’s been a great opportunity for me to review these projects with students as young as Kindergarten and promote STEM activities.”
