CRC Recognized by Taft Union High School District for Commitment to Youth Education and Public Health
At California Resources Corporation (CRC), we believe in championing our youth and investing in their success. That’s why we support education programs that enable students from our diverse communities to learn and be inspired about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and the oil and natural gas industry. We also proudly provide workforce training to help the next generation attain good-paying, high-quality careers.
CRC’s women and men are very active in Kern County where the majority of our employees live and work. The company was recently recognized by Taft Union High School District (TUHSD) and Superintendent Blanca G. Cavazos at a board meeting for our steadfast dedication to supporting Taft students by providing youth education and bringing public health programming to the region.
Through our longtime partnership with TUHSD through the years, CRC has proudly supported several educational programs such as our Magic Barrel energy introduction, provided volunteers and donated materials to provide students the opportunity to receive a higher level of STEM education and career training such as through the Oil Tech Academy and Career Technical Education Center.
In addition, CRC has provided a free Mobile Dental Clinic in Taft every January for TUHSD students and their family members over the last three years. CRC annually partners with other agencies such as the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, the California Teachers Association and the nonprofit DentalCare For Learning to provide much-needed dental services to low-income students in need. Each annual clinic provides free dental care for up to 150 students per year.
We are honored and thank TUHSD immensely for this recognition and for our longtime partnership. We hope to inspire and encourage students of all ages, backgrounds and aspirations to be a California Resource!
